Jim & Jennifer Apple*
A very restrictive religious law was enacted earlier this year and has already had an impact on the fledgling evangelical church. Many of the smaller churches have already been forced to shut down as they need to have at least 50 adult members to even start to re-register with the government which is impossible in smaller village settings. Likewise, the new censorship committee that oversees all religious publications has only authorized
Islamic materials and not any evangelical ones yet.
Pray that as we come to the end of another school year of working with orphans each week, the majority of our students will be leaving the “home” and moving on to learning a trade or onto college. Please thank God that we had at least a little time with them over the years to physically demonstrate the love of Jesus and share with them several times about who Jesus is.
We thank God that He has determined the ministry path for our office here and trust Him to continue to do so as we work amongst a government and people opposed to the Gospel
message.
