Prayer Requests |
Please pray for me as I spend time with the Lord and in his Word that my life will be continually shaped by Him.
Pray that my understanding of the Word and my understanding of the people to whom I minister will grow.
Pray that I will exercise true servant-leadership in my role as pastor.
Ask the Lord to continue to make the members of my family responsive to Him.
My life's goals are the following:
Psalm 19:13
"Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgressions."
I want to be a man who is self-controlled so that, as I age, I will not succumb to the sins of self-indulgence. I want to finish well, not failing in the home stretch but faithful until God calls me home.
Ezekiel 36:23b
"Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes."
I want to be a man whose life vividly demonstrates a passion for the Lord so that others will be attracted to him. And I want to live in such likeness to the Lord that others will see him in me. Most specifically I want my wife, children and grandchildren to see the holiness of Jesus in me.
Colossians 1:26-27
"We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To his end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me."
I want to be a man with a passion to see Christ honored in the lives of others. I want to have unflagging energy to present to Christ a host of people who love him. While the forms of my ministry/work may change, I want to resist the temptation to "retire" from my work for the Lord.
